Not many, but these were taken when football was football.

HERE
Thanks to Tyrone Shoelaces, this was the first team I ever saw:
Rovers v Middesborough F. A. Cup 5th round. Sat 5th of Feb, 1962. Att, 33,714.

Else! Taylor Newton, Clayton Woods McGrath, Douglas Lawther Pickering Byrom Ratcliffe.

We won 2-1 ( Pickering, Lawther ) setting up an away tie at Fulham in the next round. We drew that 2-2. Before the replay the draw had paired us with our old friends Burnley in the semi finals.
Typically Rovers, we played kean in the replay and lost 1-0 in front of another 33,000 crowd ! of our five forwards four were actually born in the town of Blackburn ! Now that will never happen again.

That looks like the Perspex strip. Perspex were the sponsors for 6 years in the 80's, I think. [1984-1991]

EDIT

Just seen it gives the date below the Photo as 1991 against Swindon Town.?

and another Edit. look under "sponsors" Link.

Hmmm, so the light blue perspex kit was only for one season. I wouldn't have known that.

The picture must have been messed with, claret on a Rovers shirt. wash your mouth out.

Edit. it was quite close, time is not good for the old grey matter. Garner at his best
Although the cuffs are different on Garner with the ones in the picture with Parks.

I don't know the guy but I'd like to give a little plug for Stuart at Homes of Football. I've bought a couple of prints from him and his service is top notch - he even threw in some free postcards. I think you can go and visit his studio up in the lakes, will get round to it one day.

The shop in Ambleside is closed, it's a shame, decent day out. Now the Homes of football is in Manchester.

I was clearing out the garage earlier and found some photos I took of the old Ewood, I imagine they will stir some fond memories amongst some supporters and an eye opener to the younger fans that never had the pleasure of seeing the old stadium in the flesh. Yes it was crude and shabby but hell I still loved those days cheering on from the old Blackburn end.

The photo's were taken during a school trip to the old stadium, I'm pretty sure it was 1987 possibly 88, and include some interesting snaps of the old Blackburn End entrance, the old Nuttall Street Stand, Darwen End and more impressively the old Boardroom in all its glory including  snap of the silver FA Cup shield to commemorate the sequence of wins.
